DHAKA: Bangla Academy has introduced ‘Kobi Jasimuddin Sahitya Puraskar’ in recognition of the Polli Kobi’s vast contribution to Bangla literature.

Popular poet Nirmalendu Goon has been awarded the award in its year of inception.   

He will be handed over the prize at the concluding function of The Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela 2019 on Feb 28.

Bangla Academy will honor one litterateur with the award in every two year for his/her overall contribution in any branch of Bangla language and literature.  

Prize money of the award stands at Tk 2 lakh.
