DHAKA: Film director, producer and Freedom Fighter Awlad Hossain Chaklader passed away at a city hospital on Monday (Feb 4) night. 

The 68-year-old filmmaker breathed his last at a hospital in city’s North Badda area around 11:30pm after he had been suffering from liver decease for several months.

He will be buried at Azimpur Graveyard followed by namaz-e-janaza at Wari Jame Mosque after Asr prayers on Tuesday (Feb 5).

Awlad Hossain left behind two sons, a daughter and a host of fans to mourn his passing.

Actress Shilpi made her debut in film industry with Awlad Hossain Chaklader's Nag Nortoki. He was producer of two movies Din-Mojur and Jogajog.

Bangladesh Film Directors Association expressed its profound shock at the death of Awlad Hossain Chaklader.
