DHAKA: Singer-composer Habib Wahid has left here Friday (Feb 8) night to attend the 61st Grammy Awards to be held on Feb 10, at Staples Center in Los Angeles of California, United States.

“Feeling good that (I’m) going to attend such an event,” said Habib Wahid while talking to Banglanews earlier in the day.

This year, Habib Wahid is representing Bangladesh in the music’s biggest night presented by the Recording Academy, United States recognizing achievements in world music industry.

He was honored with the invitation through Bangladeshi audio-video record label Qinetic Music which is a member of the Recording Academy.

The musician, on his verified Facebook page, has posted a photo onboard a plane on way to California early Saturday (Feb 9).

However, Habib told Banglanews that he will fly back for Dhaka on Feb 16, taking rest for some five-six days after the ceremony.

He is expected to back home on Feb 18. 

However, 15-time Grammy Awards winner American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys has been announced to host the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Feb 10.

The ceremony recognizes world’s best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year.
