DHAKA: The country’s leading rock band LRB announced Balam as its new vocal after the death of its founder-vocal-lead guitarist Ayub Bachchu.
Balam’s inclusion in the lineup was revealed at a ceremony marking 28th founding anniversary of LRB, at Café Thirty3 in Dhaka Friday (April 5).
From now on, Balam will be performing as the vocal and guitarist of the band.
At the ceremony, Balam sought blessings from everyone in this new beginning and said AB was an inspiration for him in his music career.
He urged everyone not to see him as the replacement of Ayub Bachchu as the latter’s position is irreplaceable.
Ayub Bachchu, who formed LRB on April 5, 1991, passed away on October 18, 2018.
Balam was the frontman and lead guitarist in Warfaze and later created large fanbase especially during his solo journey.
