DHAKA: The High Court granted anticipatory bail to singer Mila Islam, for eight months, in a case filed on allegation of hurling acid on her former husband SM Parvez Sanjari in a killing bid.
The bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice SM Kuddus Jaman issued the order, in presence of Mila at the courtroom Monday (July 1).
SM Nasir Uddin, former father-in-law of the singer, filed a case with Uttara West Police Station on June 5, accusing Mila and her assistant Peter Kim of attacking his son SM Parvez Sanjari.
Sanjari was admitted to the Burn & Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after reportedly surviving an acid attack carried out by two unidentified miscreants, while riding bike in Uttara sector-3 around on the night of June 2.
He was suspected to sustain burn injuries to 8-10 percent of his body.
Mila married Sanjari on May 12, 2017, and got separated on May 22, 2018.
