DHAKA: The celebrated Ekushey Padak winning actress Suborna Mustafa has aged 61 on Monday (December 2).

Suborna Mustafa was born on December 2 in 1959.  She is the daughter of legendary film actor Golam Mustafa. 

Mustafa debuted in acting in the television drama Baraf Gala Nadi, based on a novel by Zahir Raihan. Her debut movie was ‘Ghuddi.’ 

About her birthday, the actress said: “For me each day, each work is the same. There is no scope to ignore one thing for another. Though it’s my birthday, I don’t have any routine work. Usually, my beloved people always celebrate this day.  This is what I love most. I just want to ask everyone to keep me in their prayers, so that Allah keeps me healthy.”

Suborna Mustafa  is notable for her roles in television drama serials including Kothao Keu Nei (1990), Aaj Robibar (1999) and Ayomoy (1991).[5] She was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 2019.

Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the award to the actress on December 8.

In February 2019, she was nominated by the ruling party, Bangladesh Awami League, to a seat reserved for women in the 11th parliament of Jatiya Sangsad.
