Indian poet and prominent contemporary Bengali filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta has joined an online discussion with The Gronthee, an award winning Bengali literary platform in the UK.
The virtual discussion was held at 4pm (UK Time) on Tuesday (June 30) as part of Gronthee’s Facebook Live series during the coronavirus pandemic.
Gronthee’s live series, tilted “Hundred poets around the world”, was organized in a bid to spread the message of love and humanity all over the world through poetry.
In the discussion, moderated by poet TM Ahmed Kaysher, Buddhadeb talked about his personal views on films. He talked about his own films and the global industry. Buddhadeb’s poetry was also another topic of the conversation.
Editor of Gronthee poet Shamim Shahan delivered the welcome speech in the live programme. Later recitation of Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s poems and discussion on his films also took place. Filmmaker and poet Sohini Dasgupta also joined the conversation.
Many prominent poet, writer, filmmaker and philosopher from around the world have already participated in the live event.
The second part of the Facebook live session “Hundred Poets Around The World” is scheduled to be held at 4pm (UK Time) on Saturday (July 4).
