Noted actor KS Firoz dies from Covid-19 KS Firoz

Popular TV actor KS Firoz died at a city hospital on Wednesday at the age of 76.

He breathed his last at around 6:20am while undergoing Covid-19 treatment at the Combined Military Hospital, confirmed his youngest daughter Preetu Firoz through a Facebook post.

Firoz, a retired army major, will be buried at Banani military graveyard after Zuhr prayers, the post mentioned.

The actor left behind his wife Madhobi Firoz, three daughters and host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

General Secretary of Actors' Equity Ahsan Habib Nasim also confirmed the death news to Banglanews. 

He said Firoz had developed symptoms of pneumonia a few days ago and was admitted to the hospital. Later his Covid-19 test result came out positive and he was put on life support till death this morning.

KS Firoz joined the Bangladesh Army in 1967. He retired from the Army as a Major in 1977. He married his wife Madhobi in 1974.

It all started with stage performances. He began his acting career when he got involved with the theater group “Theater”. He has acted in “Sat Ghater Kanakari,” “King Lear” and “Rakshasi.”

KS Firoz made his television debut in the drama “Deep Tobuo Jole” where Dolly Ibrahim acted opposite him.

Born in Barisal, the actor got a commissioned job in the Bangladesh Army in 1967. He retired from the post of Major in 1977. 

KS Firoz's first movie was “Lawarish.” He has also acted in “Sankhanad,” “Bashi,” “Chandragrahan” and “Brihannala.”
