Prominent actor, director and theater personality Aly Zaker has been hospitalized due to physical complications.

The actor, also the chairman of Asiatic 3sixty, was admitted to the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital on Sunday.

Zaker has been suffering from cancer for the last four years and recently fell ill.

Confirming the matter, Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Director and CEO Al Imran on Wednesday evening said the actor's health condition is stable now. 

"Zaker is not infected with Covid-19. His conditioned temporarily deteriorated due to cancer. However, he is responding well to treatment," said the director.    

Aly Zaker's family members including wife Sara Zaker and son Iresh Zaker, also renowned cultural personalities in Bangladesh, informed media on Wednesday night that the actor is currently undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in the hospital.

Zaker was born in Ratanpur union of Chattogram on November 6, 1944. He is a freedom fighter and an artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the liberation war of 1971.
