Police have recovered the body of movie actress Raima Islam Shimu, who went missing on Sunday, from Keraniganj of Dhaka.

The body was recovered from Hazratpur bridge area on Monday morning.

Besides, her husband Shakhawat Ali Nobel and his friend Farhad were arrested on Tuesday (Jan 18) in connection with the murder. 

Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (SP) Maruf Hossain Sardar confirmed the matter to Banglanews around 11:30 am on Tuesday (Jan 18).

Md Abu Salam Miah, Officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Police Station, earlier said the body of Raima Islam Shimu was found in a sack.

Shimu's body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) for autopsy, he said.

Her relatives filed a general diary with Kalabagan Police Station on Sunday after she went missing.
