At least twelve dengue patients died while 2,844 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 9), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 1,092 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,752 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total 352 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
According to DGHS, this year till today 4,441 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 5,006 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
A total of 75,069 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 38,814 were in Dhaka and 36,255 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 65,290 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 34,117 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 31,173 others left hospitals outside the capital.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
