At least 14 dengue patients died while 2,432 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 940 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,492 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total 387 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
According to DGHS, this year till today 4,423 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 5,407 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
A total of 82,506 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 41,704 were in Dhaka and 40,802 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 72,289 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 36,981 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 35,308 others left hospitals outside the capital.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
