At least eight dengue patients died while 2,331 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 28), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 918 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,413 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total 556 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
According to DGHS, this year till today 3,913 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,299 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
A total of 1, 18,842 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 55,327 were in Dhaka and 61,515 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 1, 08,074 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 51,004 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 57,070 others left hospitals outside the capital.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
