At least 13 dengue patients died while 2,291 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (August 29), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 920 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,371 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total 569 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

According to DGHS, this year till today 3,838 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,380 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

A total of 1, 19,133 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 56,247 were in Dhaka and 62,886 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 1, 10,346 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 51,992 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 58,354 others left hospitals outside the capital. 

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
