At least 13 dengue patients died while 2,799 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (October 3), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 682 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 2,117 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,030 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,11,683 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 85,140 were in Dhaka and 1, 26,543 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,01,455 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 81,538 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,19,917 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,940 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 6,258 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
