A total of 500 people in Kasba of Brahmanbaria received free treatment with the support of Bashundhara Eye Hospital (BEHRI) on Tuesday (October 10).
BEHRI’s senior eye specialist Dr. Majumdar Golam Rabbi, including Ophthalmologist Rubel Rana a team of six persons examined patients from 11 am to 5 pm.
Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute, and Ma Amena Gafoor Charitable Hospital jointly organised the free eye camp.
Regarding the medical service, Parul Akhtar a patient from Khadera village near Mandarpur, said, “I cannot get treatment due to lack of money. Today I received medicine free of charge, and BEHRI will conduct free surgery.”
The founder of the hospital established in Mandarpur village and the general organizer of free eye camp M. A Qayyum Sarkar, “Many thanks to Bashundhara Group. For Bashundhara’s support, poor patients are receiving free eye treatment.”
Assistant Manager of Human Resources Department of Vision Care Foundation Abu Taib said some 86 patients were selected for cataract surgery on Tuesday among 500 patients' who registered their names.
Many have been given prescriptions as well as necessary medicines as first aid. BEHRI will conduct free surgery to the selected patients, he added.
