21st Nat’l Vaccination Day being observed

DHAKA: The 21st National Vaccination Day is being observed countrywide while around 2.20 crores children will be vaccinated on Saturday aiming to keep the county free from polio.

Health secretary MM Niazuddin in a press conference at ministry of health of secretariat confirmed the matter on Thursday.

He said that all babies below five years will be fed two drops of polio vaccine from 1030,000 vaccination camps across the country on the day.

The Health secretary also said that Immunization centers will be opened from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Besides, the vaccination will be continued to the children on the road and floating stations, bus stands, launch Terminals.

Some 60,000 workers from health department and six lakhs volunteers are working for the vaccination campaign.
