Dengue: 17 more die, 1,734 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 17 more dengue patients died while 1,734 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 9), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 271 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,463 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,449 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,87,239 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

As many as 2,79,430 Dengue patients recovered this year. 

According to DGHS, 6,360 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka and outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
