At least 6 more dengue patients died while 1,291 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 19), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 247 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,044 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,549 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,01,255 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,05,535 were in Dhaka and 1,95,720 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,94,757 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 03,407 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 91,350 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,227 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 3,722 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
