At least eight more dengue patients died while 1,084 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 21), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 221 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 863 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total of 1,562 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
A total of 3,03,536 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,06,042 were in Dhaka and 1,97,494 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 2,97,512 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 04,004 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 93,507 others left hospitals outside the capital.
According to DGHS, 1,128 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 3,334 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
