At least eight more dengue patients died while 1,162 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 22), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 229 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 933 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total of 1,570 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
A total of 3,04,698 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,06,271 were in Dhaka and 1,98,427 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 2,98,950 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 04,249 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 94,701 others left hospitals outside the capital.
According to DGHS, 1,109 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 3,069 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
