Seven more people die of dengue in 24 hrs

At least seven more dengue patient died while 251 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 8), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 64 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 187 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,650 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,16,411 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,08,818 were in Dhaka and 2,07,593 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,12,377 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,07,250 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,05,127 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 615 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,769 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
