At least one more dengue patient died while 134 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 27), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the 24 hours, 28 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 106 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.
Besides, this year a total of 1,699 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
A total of 3,20,835 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,899 were in Dhaka and 2,10,935 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 3,18,234 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,08,621 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,09,613 others left hospitals outside the capital.
According to DGHS, 300 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 602 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
