Two dengue patients die, 110 hospitalized in 24 hours

At least two more dengue patient died while 110 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 28), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 28 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 82 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,701 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,20,945 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,927 were in Dhaka and 2,11,018 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,18,377 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,08,668 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,09,709 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 281 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 586 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
