Dengue: 45 patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

At least 45 people were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 11), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 14 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 32 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of four patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 590 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 216 were in Dhaka and 374 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 256 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 32 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 224 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 180 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 150 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
