Dengue: 17 patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

At least 17 people were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 10 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 7 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of four patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 607 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 226 were in Dhaka and 381 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 324 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 88 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 236 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 134 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 145 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
