Hospitals in Bangladesh have recorded 14 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 29), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The death toll remained unchanged with no fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in the 24-hour count to Wednesday morning, said the DGHS release.
In the 24 hours, six dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while eight dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, it added.
Besides, this year, a total of 14 patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
A total of 1020 were infected by the Dengue virus this year.
Of them, 348 were in Dhaka and 672 were outside the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 875 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 297 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 578 others left hospitals outside the capital.
According to DGHS, 43 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 88 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
