Hospitals in Bangladesh have recorded 17 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours till 8 am today (February 1), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The death toll remained unchanged with no fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in the 24-hour count to Wednesday morning, said the DGHS release.
In the 24 hours, four dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 13 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, it added.
Besides, this year, a total of 14 patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.
A total of 1,072 were infected by the Dengue virus this year.
Of them, 362 were in Dhaka and 710 were outside the capital, according to the DGHS press release.
As many as 961 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 314 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 647 others left hospitals outside the capital.
According to DGHS, 40 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 57 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
