Bangladesh registers 17 more Covid-19 cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh reported Covid-19-linked 17 cases in the last 24 hours till today (May 2) morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,494 and caseload to 20,50,028, said the DGHS.

The DGHS disclosed the update on the country’s coronavirus situation, issuing a press release this afternoon.

A total of 508 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 3.35 percent.

According to the release, the total number of recoveries till today reached 4, 23,716. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8, 2020, while its first death was on March 18 that year.
