DHAKA: The two-day long 18th Biennial BPA Conference and South Asian Pediatric Association (SAPA) Conference 2014 has begun at Hotel Rupashi Bangla in the city.
The scientific session of the conference began from Sunday morning. Health and family welfare affairs minister Mohammad Nasim inaugurated the conference in afternoon.
The conference will end through scientific session of the second day on Monday at Milon Hall, BSMMU.
Many scientific discussions will be presented in the two-day conference which may help the participants to update their knowledge.
Over 800 pediatric specialists from SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries are participating in the conference.
This is the first conference arranged by Bangladesh Pediatric Association (BPA), a professional group, who is working relentlessly for development of child health care.
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chairman Professor MS Akbar, National Professor MR Khan, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Pran Gopal Dutta and others joined in the conference.
