DHAKA: Bangladesh received WHO (World Health Organization) Certificate for a Polio free country, said a press release issued by external publicity wing of foreign ministry on Sunday.
Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Mumbai, India, Samina Naz received this certificate from the Government of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan in a programme held in Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Saturday.
The programme was jointly organized by the Government of Maharashtra, WHO, Aditya Birla Group and Rotary International.
Bangladesh has been declared as one of the ten South Asian Polio free countries and certified by WHO.
