SYLHET: Intern nurses postponed their demonstrations at MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital after Tuesday evening.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Sylhet Nursing College principal Shilpi Chakrabarty said, “The probe committee began working from Tuesday afternoon; the demo has been postponed, conveying the students, who had staged sit-in till then.”

Asked on an order to the students to leave the dormitories within 6:00pm Tuesday, she said, “Many students are staying at the campus now, many left; but the situation remains clam.”

Meanwhile, the five-member probe committee, headed by hospital surgery department head professor Dr. Ali Hasan, began investigation into the incidents of attacks carried out by the intern doctors on the hospital nurses.

The other members of the committee are Professor Dr. Belal Uddin of Anesthesia department, Professor Kazi Enam of Surgery department, caretaker Tulsi Rani and nursing college principal Shilpi Chakrabarty.

The interns doctors beat up a nurse of the hospital on Monday, leaving him critically injured, which brought back-to-back confrontation between them.
