DHAKA: A doctor, who helped treatment the earlier Ebola cases in the country, has been infected with the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
The country's health minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu, confirmed the matter on Thursday, mentioning the total confirmed cases toll to 11, reports the abcnews early Friday.
It said that Chukwu told reporters in Abuja, the capital, that the latest patient is the doctor, who helped treat the first Ebola case in the country, Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer who arrived from Liberia last month with the virus and died on July 25.
“All those who are ill with Ebola in Nigeria had direct contact with Sawyer,” he added, report said.
However, Nigeria has recorded three deaths till now.
