FROM PARLIAMENT: State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ministry Zahid Malek admitted that in spite of availability of specialist doctors and specialized treatment in the country, foreign doctors are practicing here illegally.
The health state minister made the disclosure while addressing parliament in response to a question from Didarul Alam MP of Chittagong-4 in the parliament on Monday.
The state minister also informed the house that the government has been taking actions against them.
“To practice in Bangladesh, foreign doctors have to take permission from the government. Then they have to take temporary registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). After getting permission from Health Ministry they can practice here,” he added.
In response to another query from Tangail-5 lawmaker M Sanwar Hossain, Zahid Malek said, according to the Ministry of Social Welfare, there are 280,000 Autistic children in the country.
