DHAKA: Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations will provide Tk 160cr as assistance to eradicate malnutrition and ensure food security in the country as well.
This financial assistance will be provided under a five-year project on malnutrition eradication.
An agreement was signed in this regard at NEC Conference Room in city’s Shere Bangla Nagar area on Wednesday.
Economic Relations Division (ERD) secretary Mohammad Mesbah Uddin and FAO representative to Bangladesh Mike Robson signed the agreement on the project.
After signing the agreement, they hoped that this five-year project will help eradicate malnutrition and ensure food security as well.
Officials of the ministries including food, agriculture, fisheries and livestock, women and children affairs, and health and family welfare, among others, were present at the ceremony.
