DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Wednesday asked to open a special unit in all district hospitals, including all cardiac and infectious diseases hospitals of the country, to avert the pernicious effect of Swine Flu spread out in India.
The health came up with the directive as a cautionary step in an emergency meeting held at his secretariat office about the course of actions that should be followed to avert the effects of Swine Flu.
He also asked the doctors to store necessary medicines and to provide to Swine Flu affected patients, if anyone has been found, to respective unit of the hospital.
The minister also ordered the airport authorities to use seven thermal scanners to check fever of all incoming passengers, especially from India and adopt cautionary steps.
He also mentioned that the steps that Bangladesh adopted against ebola virus were successful.
State Minister for Health Zahid Malek, Health Secretary Syed Manjurul Islam, and Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Deen Muhammad Nurul Haque were among others present at the meeting.
