DHAKA: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said free mammogram will be provided at all government hospitals concerned in December every year aiming to thwart breast cancer.
The minister made the announcement while addressing the daylong Bangladesh Breast Cancer Conference-2015 at a city hotel on Friday.
Mohammad Nasim further said alongside the free mammogram, ICU and CCU services will be expanded to district and upazial levels from divistional cities.
Breast Cancer Study Forum and Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh have jointly arranged the conference.
Reputed doctors from home and abroad are exchanging their experiences in scientific content and multidisciplinary tracks related to manage the patients with Breast cancer.
A good number of delegates along with reputed foreign faculties from Bangladesh, US, India, Singapore, Philippines joined the conference.
In six sessions, the conference will provide the cutting-edge insights into the areas of prevention, optimal diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, the advance driven by research in all of them so that BBCC accomplishes its mission to accelerate the translation of clinical research into best practice made widely available to patients all over the country, the organizers said.
To increase awareness about breast cancer, a colorful rally was brought out from Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises in the morning.
The health minister also joined the rally as chief guest.
