DHAKA: Health and family welfare minister Mohammed Nasim on Saturday said a surgical center with cutting-edge technology will be built in Bangladesh.
He further said facilities of operations for all kinds of diseases will be made available here.
The minister came up with the assertions in the inauguration ceremony of 13th International Surgical Congress and SAARC Surgical Congress at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in city.
Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh and the SAARC Surgical Care Society jointly organized the four-day event began on Friday.
The minister also lauded the cordiality of surgeons’ and quality of medical treatment being provided in the country.
He also urged the physicians to serve poor patients freely at least once in a month.
Zulfiqar Rahman Khan, president of the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh, presided over the ceremony.
Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) secretary general Iqbal Arsenal, Congress president Prof. Moudud Hossain Alamgir and general secretary AZM Mustaq Hossain Tuhin, among others, addressed the ceremony.
