DHAKA: Bangladesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India for cooperation in pharmaceuticals on the sidelines of the 8th Asia Pharma Expo in city on Thursday (January 28).
The MoU was signed between the Indian Pharmaceutical Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPMMA) and the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), said a press release of High Commission of India.
President of IPMMA Mahendra Mehta and Secretary General of BAPI Shafiuzzaman signed the MoU, in presence of the Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
Speaking on the occasion held at the Bashundhara International Convention City (ICCB), Shringla congratulated the two Associations and noted that the pharmaceuticals sector represented an area of high growth for both countries.
The Indian ambassador encouraged them to fully exploit the complementarities and linkages existing between India and Bangladesh to the fullest potential.
He also assured support of the High Commission in furthering cooperation in the pharmaceuticals sector.
President of IPMMA Mahendra Mehta, Secretary General of BAPI Shafiuzzaman, and GPE Expo Pvt. Ltd’s Paresh Jhumruwala also spoke on the occasion.
