DHAKA: Bangladesh Ship Aichi Medical Group and Japan Ship Health Care Holdings signed an agreement to build a 600-bed specialized hospital in city’s Uttara area where 20 percent bed will be allotted for deprived people with free treatment.
Ship Aichi Medical Services Limited president Dr Moyazzem Hossain and Ship Healthcare Holdings Inc president Hirotaka Ogawa signed on behalf of their respective organizations in Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel of the capital on Thursday (February 25).
Health minister Mohammed Nasim said the government has been inspiring the private hospitals though it is providing better medicare to people.
The numbers of beds have been increasing in the hospitals in districts as the government is determined to ensure improved medicare to remote areas and poor patients.
Executive chairman of Board of Investment Sayed A Samad, state minister for health and family welfare ministry Zahid Maleque, Bangladesh Medical Association secretary general Dr. M Iqbal Arslan, Japan embassy to Bangladesh first secretary Takesi Matsunage, JETRO Bangladesh country representative Kei Kawano were present special guests at the event.
