DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim has ordered to constitute two probe bodies over alleged irregularities and mismanagement in two government hospitals in Dhaka.
He also directed the authorities to order the committees to submit reports within seven working days.
The minister came up with the order on Friday (January 20) after reading several newspaper reports about irregularities and mismanagement in the National Institute of Kidney Diseases & the Urology and National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute.
Besides, he ordered the authorities of National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital to issue show cause notice asking the reasons for not repairing the damaged X-ray machine for six months.
The Minister wanted an explanation in this regard within three working days.
Meanwhile, the authority has formed an investigation committee, headed by the additional director general (planning) of health directorate, to probe into the allegations against the irregularities and mismanagement at Heart Foundation Hospital.
Another committee will be formed for the investigation at National Institute of Kidney Diseases & Urology on Sunday (January 22).
