DHAKA: As part of free medical care service to marginal people, Bashundhara Eye Hospital & Research Institute will conduct free eye surgery of 11 patients on Wednesday (April 26).
The 11 patients from Kabirpur village of Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka, were brought to the eye hospital located at Block-D of Bashundhara Residential Area on Tuesday (April 25). After surgeries and one-day rest, they will be sent to their homes on Thursday (April 27).
Mofizuddin, one of the patients, told Banglanews that the physicians of this hospital earlier visited them in their village and brought them here considering their condition. The hospital will provide all the costs including transport, food, stay, surgery and medicine.
Another patient Razia Begum said: “My eyes will get well, thanks to the physicians of this hospital. I even did not believe about getting such treatment without any cost.”
Professor Dr Md Saleh Ahmad, director of Bashundhara Eye Hospital & Research Institute told Banglanews that they operate free eye camp each month as part of free medical care to poor patients.
“The hospital already has provided free eye treatment by camping in some 10-12 areas outside of Dhaka. The patients who required surgeries were brought to the hospital to give back their eyesight,” he added.
