DHAKA: Non-government organization Rupali Healthcare Foundation launched a project for reducing harmful carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, through planting trees.
The Certified Emission Reduction (CER) project of long 40 years' duration was inaugurated at Jatiya Press Club Monday (June 10) noon.
Environmental, forest and climate change affairs permanent committee member Khodeja Nasrin Akter Hossain MP, Supreme Court Deputy Attorney General Harun-Ar Rashid, Senior Advocate Kamal Hossain and Jatiya Sramik Federation Acting President Mokhlesur Rahman, among others, were present.
As many as 26,000 workers are being employed across the country, under the project financed by World Bank, the speakers said.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Rupali Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Md Jamal Hossain.
