DHAKA: The vitamin A plus campaign will be held nationwide on Saturday (June 22) by administering high-powered capsules to children aged between six months and five years.
Under the campaign, around 2.20 crore children (aged from 6-59 months) will be fed Vitamin ‘A’ capsules across the country.
Blue colored vitamin ‘A’ capsules will be given to children aged from 6 to 11 months while red colors capsules will be given to children aged from 12 to 59 months.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malek made the remarks at a press conference at secretariat on Thursday noon (June 20).
He said children will be fed the vitamin A capsule at some 120,000 permanent health centres and 20,000 mobile centres across the country.
The mobile centres will be set up at bus stands, railway stations, launch terminals, airports, ferry terminals, bridge toll centres and kheya ghats, and these will remain open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, he added.
Secretary of Health Services Md Asadul Islam, Director General of Health Department Prof. Dr Abul Kalam Azad and senior officials of the ministry, among others, attended the meeting.
