DHAKA: Sheikh Hasina National Burn & Plastic Surgery Institute, said to be the largest ever burn care center in world, opened to patients Thursday (July 4).
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik inaugurated the 13-storey specialized institute located in Chankharpul area of the capital city.
Around 11:30am, he placed floral wreaths at the murals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the institute.
Afterwards, the minister, health secretary Asadul Islam and other officials attended a discussion, marking the opening.
The institute made a trial run for last three days.
