DHAKA: As many as 99 dengue patients have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in just last 24 hours as the mosquito-borne viral fever has taken an epidemic form mostly in the capital city.

Of the patients, four have died while undergoing treatment, till filing this report Tuesday (July 23) afternoon.

DMCH sources confirmed the matter to Banglanews.   

The patients, including children and women, have been admitted to the hospital since early hours of Monday (July 22) to early Tuesday.

DMCH Director Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin told Banglanews 349 patients suffering from dengue have been admitted here in last few days and the number is still counting.

Another source from the hospital said 911 dengue patients have been admitted here till July 22.

Physicians said most of the affected are children ranging three to eight years old.
