DHAKA: Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) filed cases against 10 milk companies after tracing high level of lead (Pb) in their milk samples during lab test.
BFSA Food Inspector Kamrul Hasan confirmed the matter to Banglanews Wednesday (July 24).
On July 16, BFSA filed a report to the High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam.
The 10 companies were named in the report are: Milk Vita, Dairy Fresh, Igloo, Farm Fresh Milk, Aftab Milk, Altra Milk, Aarong Dairy, Pran Milk, Pure and Same Milk.
The court asked BFSA to inform it by July 28 about taken steps against the companies.
However, high level cadmium was also traced in the milk samples, apart from presence of lead.
