DHAKA: The Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) said that there is no health risk to the pasteurized and non-pasteurized milks produced in the country.
The nutrition unit of BARC revealed the results at the Secretariat on Wednesday (July 31) after assessing the examinations done on the presence of antibiotics, sulfa drugs and heavy metals on milks.
In the presence of Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak, Director of the nutrition unit of BARC Dr. Md Monirul Islam presented the research findings.
He said no heavy metals and sulfa drugs were found in pasteurized and non- pasteurized milks. There is no health risk to the milks produced in the country. There is no concern on having milks.
BARC has tested the milks of these companies --Milk Vita, Aarong, Farm Fresh, Igloo, RD, Savar Dairy and Pran.
