DHAKA: Health Minister Zahid Malik cancelled his ongoing seven days of leave in wake of criticism drawn by his family tour to Malaysia at a time when the country is struggling hard against dengue outbreak and aftershock of floods.
The minister will attend office Thursday (August 1) after returning home Wednesday (July 31) night.
Health and Family Welfare Ministry Public Relations Officer (PRO) Md Maidul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Zahid Malik took leave on Saturday (July 27) and was scheduled to return home from Malaysia on August 4, after spending seven days of leave.
However, the health ministry on Tuesday (July 30) cancelled holidays of its employees to put efforts against dengue and floods.
