6 hospitals fined for overcharging dengue tests DNCRP Office

DHAKA: Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) fined six hospitals and clinics in the capital city on charge of overcharging visitors for dengue tests.  

Those are-- Central Hospital, Lab Science, Dhanmondi Clinic, Badhon Hospital, Al Arafat Hospital and Green Life Hospital.

Central Hospital, Lab Science, Dhanmondi Clinic and Green Life Hospital were fined Tk 40,000 each. 

DNCRP Dhaka Divisional Office Deputy Director Monjur Mohammad Shahriar confirmed the matter to Banglanews Wednesday (July 31).

DNCRP handed the fine during drives and a hearing at its office in Karwan Bazar.

It also fined three drug stores at Mitford hospital-- Tamim Surgical Pharmacy, Ichamati Pharmacy and Ratul Pharmacy for not showing price in product packet. 
 
Labaid Hospital and Ibne Sina Hospital were fined Tk 50,000 and Tk 40,000 each on Tuesday (July 30) on charge of overcharging dengue tests.
 
Monjur Mohammad Shahriar said the hospitals were earlier verbally asked not to exceed the fixed cost for dengue tests.
